Farrah

Farrah

Hi, I’m Farrah!

Hi! I’m Farrah, a female Shar-Pei rescued from a Virginia shelter.  I had entropion and spay surgeries and other veterinary care when I came to Rescue.   I was still having some issues with my eyes, so we went to visit an ophthalmologist on 12/26. The discharge in my eyes and the cloudiness and ulceration was due to upper eyelid entropion and ptosis.  Entropion is rolling in of the eyelids resulting in facial hair rubbing on the cornea. This is uncomfortable and can lead to corneal ulceration, scar tissue formation, and loss of vision. Ptosis is drooping of the upper eyelid.  I had additional entropion surgery on 1/22 to correct the issues with my eyes and am doing so well.  My Mom says I am a much happier dog and much more playful since my surgery!

I have a spot on my skin that was checked during my pre-op bloodwork, and the veterinarian said it looked like a melanoma.   We had it biopsied and are thrilled to report that it is benign.

I have already found my “furever” family!
