Hi, I’m Delta!
Hi! I’m little Delta! I am Apple’s puppy, born on 12/11. We do not know the breed of my father.
I am five weeks old now. I am a smarty pants and already know my name and come running when I am called. I love playing with my toys…tackle dummy bears for wrestling, tennis balls, chew bones and even knots tied into pieces of rope. I get tired and crash after about 30 minutes, but toys are great and a home with a good supply of these would be a dream for me! I like going in my toy box and picking up and carrying off my toys, then Foster Mommy picks them up, then I take them out again! I like this game!
I have learned to drink water and am eating softened dry dog food to supplement my cereal with puppy milk replacer. I am eating my dry mixed with a little canned dog food to entice me. At five weeks, I still nurse a couple of times per day.
I am very intelligent and human responsive, as most single pups are. I have a great appetite. I am growing physically and mentally so fast it is hard to keep me challenged. I sleep alone part of the time and with Apple about 1/4 of the time. When I wake up, I go to the kennel door and “speak” /cry to be let out to potties. If Foster Mommy is not around, I use the puppy paper at the far corner. Foster Mommy thinks that I will quickly learn to go outside….once the weather warms up.
I have the extra skin of a Pei pup. I’ve got enough skin for 2 puppies! You can see the wrinkles on my nose/muzzle. I did need to have my eyes tacked when I was 6 weeks old.
I am very excited that I was transported to my new home on 3/16!
